A funeral mass was offered Dec. 3 at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church for Carmello J. Scalzo “Mello”, 85, a lifelong resident of Secaucus. He passed away Nov. 30. Carmello served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a parishioner and usher at Immaculate Conception Church. Carmello was a probation officer for the Jersey City Courthouse and was an honorary member of the Secaucus American Legion Post 118. He was the husband of Doris J. Scalzo; the father of Phillip and Melody Scalzo; the brother of Rosalie DeTitta and the late Salvatore, Joseph, Tessie Potente, Susan Agresti and Kathleen Flaig. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
