JERSEY CITY — Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said Tuesday that a Jersey City woman and her baby were both found stabbed numerous times in their downtown Jersey City apartment. DeFazio said the woman was stabbed to death while the baby, approximately seven months old, was taken first to the Jersey City Medical Center but was then rushed to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey by 1:30 p.m.
DeFazio said the baby was in critical condition as of 4:30 p.m.
DeFazio said the mother and child were found in their apartment at Paulus Hook Towers, 100 Montgomery St., around lunchtime after the husband returned to the apartment after taking their older daughter to school.
