Funeral mass was celebrated Nov. 23 at St. Patrick Church, Jersey City, for Rita V. Brummer. She passed away at her residence Nov. 19. Born in Jersey City, she married Charles W. Brummer in 1942. They lived in Jersey City and worked in the family business, Brummers Ice Cream Parlor at the Junction in Jersey City. She remained active in the Jersey City community and in her parish of St. Patrick Church until moving to Toms River in 1972. She continued working at Brummer’s Chocolate’s in Westfield until retiring several few years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Charles W. Brummer and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister-in-law Edna Brummer; her nephews Fred, George and Robert Brummer; her niece Edna Coyle and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
