A funeral mass was offered Nov. 13 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Josephine LaPrete, 88, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, Marion section. She passed away Nov. 8. Josephine worked with her daughter Kathryn for Word of Mouth Caterers and prior for her son-in-law Richard with Candy Emporium. Prior, she owned and operated Neil’s Market in the Marion Section. Josephine was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and enjoyed working the annual feast. She was also a member of the Rosarian Society and 50 Plus Club. She was the wife of the late Nicholas “Nicky” LaPrete; the mother of Angela and husband James Murphy, Kathryn and husband Richard Budinich; the grandmother of Susan Murphy and Janice Shapiro, Linda and Kevin Nally, Marc and Cindy Budinich; the great-grandmother of Kevin and Dylan Nally and Sophia Budinich, and the second grandmother to Joann and Martin, Michael and Sherri, David and Joanna and Ryan Budinick.
