Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Hoboken Republican Organization, I want to congratulate Dawn Zimmer for winning the Hoboken Mayoral special election. Mayor Zimmer ran a positive, well-organized campaign with many very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. She has our support as she works to lower property taxes, cut Hoboken’s reckless, unsustainable spending, improve the quality of life, and support smart, Hoboken scale development. We encourage Mayor Zimmer to actively reach out to the citizens of Hoboken for their ideas, input, comments and concerns. We have many talented people in Hoboken whose ideas should be heard, considered and implemented.
I also want to congratulate the other candidates who were willing to mount a campaign in a very short period of time. While there can be only one winner, they should all be proud of what they accomplished; they campaigned tirelessly because of their love of Hoboken and for the chance to help make Hoboken an even better place to live. We encourage them to stay actively involved in Hoboken politics.
And, of course, we congratulate our new Governor- elect, Chris Christie. I want to thank our volunteers for walking the streets, making phone calls and knocking on doors in support of our next governor. Now that the campaign is behind us, we hope everyone will join us in wishing Chris Christie success.
