Learning to love not hate

Dear Editor:
I was reading an article which was very disturbing to me as a minister. About the hate groups that came from Westboro Baptist Church, of Topka, Kan. to protest in front of Dickinson High School, in Jersey City. And to send hate messages, against the gays, and also words like, “You’re going to hell, God is your enemy, you will eat your babies, God hates the Jews, and God hates fags,” which was one of the t-shirts of the hate group. And also the hate group has called military deaths God’s way of punishing the U.S. for allowing gays into the armed forces.
I believe as Christians we should not bring hatred messages into our churches communities, and schools. Instead we should bring words of strength, love, encouragement, guidance, and peace to our communities. So please remember, love not hate, because both male and female are made in the image of God.
