More on campaign donations in Hoboken

HOBOKEN — Well, apparently if you want something done, you have to do it yourself.
The front-runners in the Hoboken election, with relatively little time to raise funds, have supplied the majority of their campaign funding. Theoretically, they can reimburse themselves from some last-minute fundraisers, but that may mean we aren’t sure until after the election who is funding them.
In any case:
Beth Mason and her husband have supplied most of their funding according to the numbers supplied by Eric Kurta (see the other news brief below to link to the charts).
Frank Raia self-funded all $200,000 of his campaign so far.
Zimmer has given a lot of money or her campaign, although she also has some from other people. Glatt’s husband gave a lot to her campaign, but she has many individual donors.
Brinkman and his family have given most of his, as well.
Someone made a note about Zimmer’s biggest contributors:
“Jake Stuiver gave $2300. He got the HHA appointment.
James Aibel gave $2000. He got the ZBA appointment.
Jonathan Metsch gave $1000. He got the Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC) board appointment.”
Note: These folks were known Zimmer supporters before the race, though, and may have donated before they knew of their appointments. Also, Metsch is filling in for Zimmer on the hospital board, but has not been appointed to a permanent seat.
