‘The response was wonderful’

To the Editor:
On behalf of the Bayonne Quilt Club, I want to extend our thanks to the Bayonne Library for allowing us to have our quilt show and food drive in the upstairs gallery.
The room was perfect for displaying the quilts. We generally see them one at a time and it was a true delight for us to see them all displayed at once and, especially, the reactions of the show attendees. The library and its staff went out of their way to make everything just right.
Thanks also to show attendees, who donated food that was given to St. Andrew’s Food Pantry. Thank you to St. Andrew’s for picking up the food after the show.
A special thanks to A.J. Wright, who donated 100 pants hangers that we used for hanging the quilts. Thank you to Fabricland of North Plainfield for including us in the “fabric trade-in” program.
Thank you to our husbands and children, who did the “heavy lifting” for us, and especially to my daughter, Diane Gianettino, who designed and printed the beautiful flyers and programs.
Thank you to all the donors of fabric, machines, and sewing supplies. We truly could not exist without your generosity.
And last, but not least, thank you to the members of the quilt club. They are a wonderful group of ladies who have truly good and generous hearts. The quilts take a good deal of time and effort to make and they generously donate them hoping they will bring comfort to others.
The response to the show was wonderful, and we hope to make it an annual affair.
