More political protests in WNY

WEST NEW YORK — A crowd of people who support Dr. Felix Roque’s effort to become mayor of West New York gathered around Town Hall and chanted pro-recall messages at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. People held signs depicting current Mayor Silverio “Sal” Vega with red devil-like horns coming out of his head and the word “resign,” written in English and Spanish.
Vega’s election is two years off, but Roque wants to recall him.
Mayor Vega, who was in a meeting with the Dominican Civic Association, came out, greeted the crowd, and spoke with them. He also took time to speak with the Reporter. Find out what he said by reading more in this weekend’s paper.
Also, a town hall meeting was scheduled for Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the West New York Middle School, located at 201 57th Street.
