Funeral services took place Oct. 9 for Peter J. Van Miert, of Secaucus. He passed away peacefully at home Oct. 5. He was born in Jersey City to the late Petrus and Elizabeth, the oldest of seven children. He grew up in Union City, and lived in Secaucus for the past 55 years with his wife, Edith. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an active member of the Golden Age Club in Secaucus and an avid postcard collector. Surviving are his wife Edith, his son Gary Van Miert and his daughter Lori Cinnella and her husband Ron, and his grandchildren Danielle, Alex, and Ronnie. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends, including numerous nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
