Last weekend was very eventful for Weehawken. The WHS football team won its first home game, the WHS marching band won its first competition of the season, and the 17th Annual Weehawken Day was a huge success. The weather was beautiful and it was the perfect way to continue celebrating Weehawken’s 150th Anniversary!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Weehawken Department of Public Works and the Weehawken Police Department for their tremendous effort in preparing for the event and keeping everyone safe. In addition, a big thank you to the 20 community organizations who ensured the day was a complete success that was enjoyed by everyone.
This year’s Weehawken Day had over 6,000 residents in attendance and we are pleased to report that everyone remained safe with no injuries. It also had new attractions such as a classic car show complete with doo wop singers, Native American dancers, and the wonderful historic events that took place throughout the day. There was truly something for residents of all ages to enjoy.
This event has become a cornerstone in our community and is one that we look forward to all year long. We are already excited for next year.
