Funeral mass was offered Oct. 8 at SS. Joseph and Michael’s Church for Katherine M. Gronda, of Pequanock, formerly of Toms River and Union City. She died Oct. 5. She was born in Austria but spent her early life in Hudson County, working for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a secretary and then later as office manager for SS Joseph and Michael’s Church in Union City where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Society. She was the wife of the late Amo; the mother of Richard and his wife Marilyn and the late Norman. She was predeceased by a sister, Rose Ronzel and two brothers, Patrick and Gerald Filip, she was the grandmother of Douglas, Rick, Daniel and Dionne Gronda and Richard and James Glaser and thirteen great grandchildren. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
