A funeral mass was offered Sept. 19 at Sacred Heart Church, North Bergen, for Halina Vondy, 86, formerly of West New York. She passed away Sept. 11. Halina was a seamstress and retired nurse; she also worked at Golfcrest Nursing Home, Hollywood, Fla. She came to the U.S. from Germany in 1951 and lived in New Jersey till 1969 and then moved to Florida. She was the wife of the late Joseph Vondy and Bartley Conti; the mother of Barbara Vondy Hillenius and her husband, Steven and the late Richard (1983), and the grandmother of Steven Richard and Andrew James Hillenius.
