A funeral mass was offered Sept. 19 at The Church of the Incarnation, Jersey City, for Maureen Elaine Matthews. She passed away with her family by her side Sept. 16. A graduate of New Jersey City University, she was a life-long Jersey City resident. Maureen was employed by Metro Transit Authority in Brooklyn. She was an active member of The Church of the Incarnation in her hometown. Maureen was the daughter of the late Maurice and Charlotte Matthews. Surviving to cherish Maureen’s memory are her husband Maurice Anyoarah; her daughters Jamila, Chikaodi and Zemora Matthews; her grandchildren Isaiah and Elijah Patterson; her brother Ronald Matthews; her aunt Joane; her nephews Wenton and Edward Baskerville and Maurice Matthews; her nieces Phyllis Selby, Valerie Burgess, Monique Hutchinson, Michele, Carol and Monique Matthews and a host of great-nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law Wenton Baskerville, Sr. Services arranged by the Jackson Funeral Residence, Jersey City.
