‘Termites of the sea’ and other big stories in this weekend’s papers…

Don’t miss this Sunday’s editions of the Reporter newspapers, or you won’t know what your neighbors are talking about. The print editions will be delivered all weekend, and you can also read the stories here at www.hudsonreporter.com.
Some creepy critters are chewing their way through the county. In Hoboken, “termites of the sea” are destroying the piers, and it will cost thousands to fix. In North Bergen, bedbugs have been found in a senior citizen building.
Want more? Teachers in Secaucus are upset that they are being forced to use new technology they are not ready for. They’re also not so happy that three out of the four schools had to deal with principal switches.
In Weehawken, they are planning a fun fair next Saturday, Oct. 3 — and you have to pre-register to attend. Residents only, please.
In Jersey City, how are boys at Hudson Catholic dealing with the school’s first year enrolling girls? Also, actress Aileen Quinn of “Annie” fame is teaching there.
In Union City and West New York the post offices have cut hours and changed deliveries. It’s because of the recession and the increase in e-mails.
So you have no reason to go to any other news source this weekend besides ours. That is, unless you want to read more about Mackenzie Phillips and her father. I, for one, do not.
