This house appeared in the Times real estate section on Sunday for $849,000 – and the writer said, “An octagonal three-story cottage set behind a condominium building…This unique house is hidden away, yet just off Hoboken’s liveliest shopping avenue.”
We had to see for ourselves. It did look interesting – a skinny, tall house hidden on Washington Street behind a rowhome and a church. How did one even get to it?
Well, there’s a little opening between the two structures, and you can take a sidewalk back. And there it is — the three-story eight-sided house, flower boxes in the windows!
According to the Times, it’s got a fireplace, three bedrooms, two and a half baths, hardwood floors, central air, a laundry room, and a private patio. The taxes are $9,728 a year, and there’s a “common charge” of $303 a month.
Check out the pictures we took by clicking on the one you can see. It’s at 723 Washington St. and it’s listed with a real estate agency in Hoboken. Would you like to own this hidden house?
