Big payroll company buys little one founded in Hoboken

Now that’s a success story. Priority Pay in Hoboken was founded by then-25-year-old Jerry Carter Jr. in 2004. The Hoboken-based company grew to 100 employees. It focused on providing payroll services for small businesses.
A week ago, it was purchased by Automatic Data Processing (ADP) in Roseland, the world’s largest payroll company.
This news comes to us from the Star-Ledger, which notes, “First Priority Pay CEO Jerry Carter Jr. said the transition will be completed at the end of the year. He would not disclose the terms of the purchase.”
