Who is playing politics?

I like to comment on a letter that I read in the Jersey Journal dated August 24, 2009 by Sean Connors “WRONG TIME FOR FULOP POLITICS” according to that letter it seems to me Mr. Connors is playing politics, first of all Mr. Connors is employed by the J.C.P.D. and A member of the Jersey city Board of Education, so I don’t expect Mr. Connors to be a missing link of the chain that’s running our city government based on his attack on Ward E Councilmen Steven Fulop!! What I am saying is if we don’t have an honest government that works for the people how can we have safer streets, stabilize taxes, job opportunities. Doesn’t it start in city hall?
Mr. Connors stated internal crime is as important as street crime. Absolutely wrong! Internal crime is where it starts. If it’s not operating honestly it spreads out into the street and that’s why we have high crime on the streets, unstable taxes etc. It’s like wearing a tuxedo without taking a shower. Mr. Connors stated “national night out was to orchestrate demonstration and stated Steven Fulop misguided some community leaders and residents to participate outside of city hall.”
Jersey City has been misguided for over 4 years with 28 homicides in 2008 and 22 homicides already in 2009, and continuous increase in taxes despite all the development that has been going on in the city. We still have a 42 million dollar deficit (we have the answer to why that’s been happening in July). The streets are not safe, sewer and water rates have sky rocketed, there are no police walking the streets. This all starts internally! There’s never a wrong time to fight for honest government. All council members should have a council night out. They should walk the streets not just during election time to get elected for their self interest.
National Night Out in Jersey City is funded by the state of New Jersey and the money is disbursed to each municipality. Mr. Connors stated that the police department funds the activities for National Night Out. We had enough! Stop playing politics, wrong time right time and using these events for points. There is never a wrong time for honest government. Let landlords be landlords, let tenants be tenants, let business owners run their business. We need honest government!
