Thrilling talent show

To the Editor:
On Thursday evening, Aug. 11, the Arts Factory, 230 Ave. E, hosted the Hudson Milestone’s first talent show. For those who are not familiar with Hudson Milestones, it is the parent company of all the staff that provides training in the affairs of daily living. The organization also plans the activities of their lives in a protective atmosphere for the eight group homes throughout the entire county of Hudson, involving many special needs adults.
I have a son in the Lord Ave. group home, and have been modestly involved for many years; but this show had to be one of the most auspicious undertakings ever imagined. The rehearsing, makeup, costumers, and love that this staff put into this “show” can only be described as exemplary! You cannot imagine the pure joy that even the most untalented participants exuded, just by standing on a stage!
Many of the Group Home staff joined in with the musical numbers. It was a good and rare opportunity for expression by all. God bless those who put in many hours of pleasing and executing the music, dancing, poetry and instrumentals. They most certainly gave these group home residents the thrill of a lifetime.
I don’t think any Broadway producers could have pulled this off! And there was no “temperament.”
