A Mass of Christian burial was offered July 31 at St. Joseph’s Church for Salvatore A. Brancato Jr. He passed away July 28 at Compassionate Care Hospice at the Atrium in Jersey City. Born in Garfield, Mr. Brancato was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. A graduate of St. Peter’s Prep and St. Peter’s College, Salvatore then graduated from Seton Hall Law School and became a practicing attorney for over 40 years. A member of the Hudson County and New Jersey Bar Association, he was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean conflict and parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church all his life. Salvatore was predeceased by his parents Salvatore A. Sr. and Letty (nee Marino) as well as siblings Gerard “Jerry” Brancato, Rosalie Lo Bello and Josephine Scarpa. Surviving are his brothers Benjamin (Carol), Frank (the late Patricia) and Richard (Jeanette) as well as several nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Karol Brancato.
