The All Points West Festival announced that popular rapper Jay-Z will replace the Beastie Boys as their Friday night headliner for the three-day concert in Jersey City. Jay-Z will kick off the festival on Friday, July 31.
Jay-Z’s hits include “99 Problems” and “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem.)” He is also the former CEO of Roc-a-Fella Records and Def Jam, two highly successful hip-hop labels.
The Beastie Boys had to drop out when member Adam Yauch announced he had cancer.
Other headliners include Coldplay and Tool.
