A 43-year-old North Bergen driver allegedly jumped a curb in West New York Sunday afternoon on crowded Bergenline Avenue and pinned a 44-year-old man. The driver was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
The incident, which took place near the cross street of 57th Street, happened while several stores on the popular shopping street were having outdoor sales.
A total of seven people were hit, ranging in age from 13 to 65, news sources reported.
The most seriously injured man was taken to the hospital for fractures in his legs and hips and was hospitalized in serious condition.
The others suffered minor injuries.
