Mason offers meetings to detail ball park plan

Dear Editor:
I am writing in response to last week’s article, “Mason to fight for minor league ballpark: Proposes uptown development including hotels, businesses.” First and foremost, I would like to remind Hoboken residents that this plan is open to your input. For this reason, I have held several community meetings and will continue to have additional meetings throughout the city. Maintaining an open public process is something I have always advocated for, and I will continue to do so as we move forward with this plan for Hoboken’s North End.
While an anonymous developer was quoted in last week’s column as saying this project is “pie in the sky”, I respectfully disagree. For far too long, developers have been allowed to dictate the terms to the people of our city and it is high time we put an end to this practice. We must use our remaining undeveloped space wisely and create an environment that will suit the needs of all the people of Hoboken, young and old.
If you are interested in hosting a meeting where I can discuss this plan in further detail with your family and friends please do not hesitate to contact me at (201)-916-8244 or info@MasonCityCouncil.org. I look forward to working alongside you so we can continue to make Hoboken a better place to live and raise a family.

Sincerely,
Councilwoman Beth Mason
