A funeral mass was offered July 11 at St Nicholas R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Eileen “Chickie” Dachniewicz. She passed away July 8. Eileen was born in Jersey City and was a lifetime resident. She was the daughter of the late Hannah and Patrick Gallagher. She was a retired postal worker at the Jersey City Bulk Center, where she worked for over 20 years. Eileen was the wife of the late Walter Dachniewicz. She was the mother of Paul, Michael and David Dachniewicz and the late Barbara Ann Welsh, Kevin and Steven Dachniewicz. She was the sister of Mary Mooney, Bernice Frega, Margaret De Fazio and Patrick Gallagher. She was the grandmother of Michelle Lee, Julia Ammon, Patrick and Christopher Welsh and the great grandmother of Richard Michael and Georgia Ann Lee, and the mother-in-law of Deborah Dachniewicz and Patrick Welsh.
