A Mass of Christian burial was offered July 8 at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Deborah Ann Rakowski, 56. She passed away July 2. Deborah was born and raised in Jersey City, where she began her career at Christ Hospital Nursing School. It was also at this time that she began dating John S. Rakowski, who would become her soul-mate and husband of 32 years. Deborah continued her nursing education through the years, obtaining the title of Certified Director of Nursing, and focused much of her career on improving geriatric care. Deborah served on various nursing boards in the state, including the N.J. Association of Nursing. The intrinsic warmth, empathy, and love Deborah possessed transcended her nursing career, and was felt by all that knew her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. Deborah was predeceased by her mother, Dolores Jablonski-Ostrowski. She is survived by her husband, John S. Rakowski; son, John Paul; daughters, Jacqueline and Vanessa; sister, Donna Ostrowski; brother, Alan Ostrowski; and father, Edward Ostrowski.
