Apparent suicide by train at Secaucus rail station

There has been a fatality at the Frank Lautenberg Train Station in Secaucus.

According to New Jersey Transit Police, witnesses saw a woman jump from the platform at the Secaucus rail station in front of a northbound train heading toward Suffern, N.Y. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not yet been identified. The incident is being investigated as a suicide.
The train, No. 1115 on the Main Line, left the Hoboken station at 12:48 p.m. and was due in Suffern at 1:49 p.m. There were no injuries to any other customers or any of the 70 passengers on the train, who were transferred to another rail line.
The track on which the incident happened is currently out of service while NJ Transit investigates the incident, but trains are still running between Hoboken and Suffern. – E. Assata Wright
