Hoboken councilman gives July 4 warnings

Hoboken Councilman Peter Cunningham says:
If you will be around this weekend, please refer to the following to help you navigate in and around the area on Saturday, July 4th.
The fireworks will begin at 9:20 and last roughly 26 minutes.
This event will be considered a family event with vendors permitted to set-up on Sinatra Drive, and Stevens Institute will also be open to the public. Please be aware of the street closures and no parking areas. It is best to get what you need done EARLY on Saturday, as many of the eastern roadways heading north/south in Hudson County will close late in the day/early evening.
There will be a ZERO tolerance policy in place including fines of up to $1,000 for public drunkeness, open alcoholic containers and other public nuisances. The police will be monitoring rooftop gatherings, and in our briefing, I emphasized that this was a family event and ZERO tolerance was critical. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted along the waterfront, and police will be conducting searches of coolers and bags to enforce same. First aid and water stations will be set up along the waterfront as well.
If there are any problems or emergencies, you are asked to call the police at 201-420-2100.
