Hal Turner denied bail; awaits extradition to Chicago

Harold “Hal” Turner, a controversial white supremacist internet radio host and blogger, was denied bail on July 1, after a power outage delayed a hearing planned for June 30.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Shipp denied Turner’s bail and ordered him to be extradited to Chicago by the U.S. Marshals Service.
U.S. Attorney’s Office Spokesperson Michael Drewniak had confirmed Friday that during Turner’s June 23 appearance in court it was disclosed that there was a stockade of weapons at Turner’s residence. They included 200 rounds of ammunition, of which 150 rounds of hollow-point bullets, a shotgun, and three handguns.
Turner is being held on charges that he threatened to kill three Chicago federal judges. There are no court dates set.
If convicted Turner stands to serve 10 years in prison, as well as an additional 10 years if he is convicted on recent Connecticut charges.
As of today, Turner’s website had been shut down, but had a link directing people to a blog now being run by his mother.
