Union City celebrates Post Office re-opening

The community recently gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand re-opening of the 45th Street Post Office Station at 4535 Bergenline Ave. Service at the 45th Street Post Office Station had been suspended since Dec. 15, 2008, due to damage from a four-alarm blaze at an adjacent building.
The retail business hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Post Office Box lobby hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Postmaster advises customers can do business at four Post Offices in Union City. In addition to the newly re-opened 45th Street Station; Union City residents and businesspeople can purchase postal products and services at the Main Post Office at 301 30th St., the Bergenline Avenue Station at 2100 Bergenline Avenue, and Summit Avenue Station at 720 Eighth St.
In addition to the traditional brick and mortar Post Offices; Postmaster Abramo recommends saving time and money by buying stamps by mail with a convenient postage-paid order form, by phone at 1-800-STAMP24, at participating local retailers and banks in Union City, and online at the Postal Service’s USPS.com website. Extensive postal information, including Post Office locations and alternate sites to buy stamps, is available online 24/7 at USPS.com.
