Dear Editor:
As the summer months are upon us, I write to make residents aware of the many exciting happenings in Union City. As your Mayor, I invite everyone to enjoy much of what is offered.
Specifically, the park at 24th Street and Central Avenue is undergoing a major reconstruction to provide a modern play surface, recreational water sprayers and new park seating.
Also, residents will be able to benefit from improved infrastructure with the paving of 9th, 10th 11th and 14th Streets.
Furthermore, we can look forward to the numerous cultural events that are happening throughout our City. Along with the Commissioners, I am proud to host events that are rooted in culture and the arts. Residents will be able to enjoy events that encompass theater, jazz, voice, and literature.
Throughout the summer, block parties will be held throughout Union City. Residents are encouraged to attend with family and friends to enjoy games, food and entertainment.
While there are many summer vacation days that are yet to be enjoyed, students can be excited about the grand opening of Union City High School, which is a majestic facility. In addition to modernized classrooms, students will have access to amenities such as a state-of-the-art athletic field, a grand-sized gymnasium, cutting-edge laboratories, an impressive theater and a performing arts studio.
As the school year approaches, my office will invite residents to partake in grand opening of Union City High School and tours will be offered to the local constituency.
