New Jersey Meadowlands Commissioner Michael Gonnelli was notified on June 18 that he has been replaced on the Commission by former Secaucus Board of Education trustee Mauro DeGennaro. Gonnelli, a Secaucus councilman, has been at odds with Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell for some time, and will face Elwell in the November mayoral election.
The NJMC oversees zoning in 88 percent of Secaucus, as well as in several other towns in the Meadowlands area.
