Dear Editor,
On Sunday, May 17, the Hoboken Harriers Running Club (HOHA) held their eleventh annual HOHA Classic 5-Mile Race. The event was extremely successful with more than 500 runners participating even though the weather was chilly and windy.
The net proceeds of the event go to the Jubilee Center (www.jubileecenterhoboken.org), an after school and summer safe haven for children in Hoboken’s public housing neighborhood. On behalf of the staff, volunteers and Trustees of the Jubilee Center, I would like to say a special thanks to the HOHA’s, Jim Doyle and all the race volunteers for organizing this event and for all of their hard work. The children who attend the Center greatly appreciate the support that HOHA and its members have given to the Center over many, many years. The Center relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses in Hoboken to support its mission of helping young children at a critical time in the lives and HOHA has shown that their members care about making Hoboken a better and more caring city.
Also, I would like to thank the sponsors who joined me in supporting the race: Haven Savings Bank, Applied Development Company, Ankle and Fool Specialists (Dr. Azzolini and Dr. Guyen), Fleet Feet Sports, Verizon and Moran’s Bar. Their generosity and support of the Center helped make the race successful!
Sincerely,
Cindy Cray
