A funeral mass was offered May 6 at Our Lady of Victories Church, Jersey City, for Nellie Failace, 95. She died May 3 at Southern Ocean Center, Manahawkin. Born in Jersey City, the daughter of the late Serafina (Provenzano) and James Bodino, she moved to Manahawkin two years ago. She was Past President of both the St. Dimitrio Society and the Knights of Columbus Columbettes. She was a member of the Swanee Girls. She and her late husband, Fred Failace, travelled extensively with friends to Italy, Hawaii and Alaska, enjoying side trips to Atlantic City. She was a devotee of the St. Jude Novena at St. Lucy’s Church, Jersey City for over 60 years. She was the mother of Frank Failace, Kathryn Fiore and her husband, Angelo, and former Mayor of Carteret, James Failace and his wife, Carol; the grandmother of Frank, Michael, Andrew and Maria Fiore, Danielle, Matthew and Sherri Fiore, and is survived by 10 great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
