Community is Zimmer’s highest priority

Dear Editor:

I first met Dawn Zimmer by chance six years ago when we were both in Stevens Park with our then very young children. I was born and raised in Hoboken, and Dawn had just moved here, but that made no difference to either of us. We were just two moms enjoying a beautiful day in Hoboken with our children. Now, six years later, Dawn is running for Mayor. Her career has come a long way, but Dawn is still the same woman I met that day, committed to making Hoboken the best town that it can be for all our residents. She knows that our town belongs to the people who live here, and she will make sure that the needs of the community are always her highest priority. She understands that we must get our fiscal house in order so that we can focus improving our quality of life. She recognizes that green technologies can save us money while helping to save our planet. This is particularly important to residents of my building, Marineview Plaza, because our utility bills are now paid by the residents rather than by the landlord, so the landlord has no incentive to properly insulate our units. Thanks to Dawn, we are now discussing forming a “green committee” to figure out ways to save energy and money at the same time. Dawn and her entire ticket are completely independent and beholden to no one but the people of Hoboken. That’s why I will be voting for Dawn Zimmer, Carol Marsh, Ravi Bhalla and Dave Mello on May 12.

Respectfully,

Jennifer Spadeveccia
