According to Commander of the Detective Bureau Lt. Frank Cannella, on May 6 at 3 a.m., a man broke into a Dunkin’ Donuts in North Bergen and managed to flee with an “undetermined” amount of cash.
Cannella said that the store was closed for business when an employee in the back of the store, located at 2101 Kennedy Blvd., heard a loud crash.
“He went [up front] and saw a strange man standing at the register,” said Cannella.
The man has somehow broken through a window, which he may have kicked in, said Cannella. He was able to get access to the register and then fled out of the rear of the building.
The individual was a white tall male in his mid-20s, said Canella.
Cannella said that police were currently working on gaining evidence from video surveillance cameras.
