A 30-year-old math teacher and wrestling coach at Union City High School was arrested at his Clifton home on Saturday on sexual assault charges after a 16-year-old female student apparently told the school nurse that they had had a relationship, according to a story in the Record on Monday.
The Passaic County chief assistant prosecutor told the newspaper that the two e-mailed each other, that the teacher (who is single) allegedly sent her a sexually explicit photo of himself, and that the pair allegedly did some “canoodling” when they stayed after school.
The real encounters allegedly took place at the teacher’s home, according to the story.
The prosecutor alleges that the teacher and the girl had sexual encounters at his house over nine months, from February through November of last year.
