Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and a host of county and city officials attended the ceremony at the Fount Salvation Church hosted by Rev. Luis Fernandez in Jersey City. The Dominican American Alliance was celebrated and Mayor Healy expressed his gratitude to be invited to the ceremony. Jersey City Council President Mariano J. Vega, Jr. stated that Jersey City received 20 Million Dollars from President Barack Obama as part of a stimulus package to assist urban areas and that Mayor Healy was one of the first mayors in the State of New Jersey to support President Obama for President.
