Re-elect Fulop to City Council

Dear Editor:
Anyone following the City administration and the City Council for the last four years has noticed a disturbing pattern. The administration proposes an idea, a budget, a tax increase or a new regulatory action, and most of the Council vote as a rubber stamp to approve anything the mayor wants. The result of this is that we’ve had major property tax increases three out of the last four years and a government that acts as it pleases without any checks or balances.
The one lone voice for the people on the City Council has been Councilman Steven Fulop. Steve has exposed conflicts of interest and waste in our city government. Steve has been a critic of department who don’t do their jobs, budget gimmicks that will hurt taxpayers and helped lead the fight to pass the strictest pay to play reform in the state.
Jersey City taxpayers and someone who cares about us on the City Council and watches this administration. We need to re-elect Steve Fulop to the Jersey City Council this May so he can continue to be a watchdog for our city government.

Respectfully,
Mahdi Hemingway
