Funeral services were held April 11 for Andrew Charles, 84, a longtime member of Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, Jersey City. He died April 9 at Bayonne Medical Center. Born in Cyprus, Greece, he lived in Jersey City the last 59 years. He was a retired restaurant owner. He was predeceased by his wife, Sofoulla Pantelli Charles, affectionately known as Sophia, and his daughter, Mary Masesie. He is survived by his son, Dr. James Charles, and daughter-in-law, Joanne; his grandchildren, Robert Masesie, Jr., Christine and Francine Charles; and great-granddaughters, Christy and Kaitlin Masesie. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
