Dear Editor:
I read your story of Mrs. Palermo’s lost purse with some bemusement. While your story was intending to highlight the honesty of the good Samaritan who returned her purse, it inadvertently highlighted the dishonesty of Mrs. Palermo.
She states that “I tasted one of the plums and they weren’t good, so I said forget it.” She then left the store leaving the cart in the middle of the store with her purse in it.
So obviously she didn’t pay for the plum she ate. The owner of the Farmer’s Market had already paid for that plum.
I think Mrs. Palermo should return to the store and pay for the plum she ate. In all honesty!
