A funeral mass was offered April 6 at Our Lady of Mercy Church for Bernadette Covello, 62. She died April 1 at Jersey City Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, the life long resident was the daughter of the late Mary (Frye) and Francis Covello. She was a graduate of St. Dominic Academy and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was a registered nurse with Cusack Care Center at St. Joseph’s Home for the Blind, Jersey City. Prior to that, she served in the same capacity with Delaney Hall in Newark and for more than 20 years in the Emergency Room, and as a supervisor at the Greenville Hospital, Jersey City. She was a Girl Scout Leader at Our Lady of Mercy Church Jersey City. Surviving are her daughter, Kara; her sister Grace Carlson; and her brother Mark and his wife Rosalie and their son Tristan. She was pre-deceased by her brother Walter; and her sister, Joann. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
