To the Editor:
I am a World War II Veteran and I am retired. Bayonne is where I was born and I have lived here for almost 90 years. I am waiting for a mayor to give us an honest tax.
I recently took a ride in my car starting at 9th Street and Avenue C to the Boulevard. I went for 25 city blocks. I found at least one house for sale in the 25 city blocks. A few had two houses for sale. Two had three for sale. These people have a problem selling their homes. I assume they want to sell their home because of high taxes.
My neighbor has had six empty rooms to rent for the past six years. His taxes are over $10,000 per year.
Mayor Smith, we need our taxes to be lowered now. There must be 200 homes for sale in Bayonne.
