Funeral services were held on March 19 for Carmen L.Cruz, 74, the owner and operator of Carmen’s Bridal Shop, Jersey City. She passed away March 16 at University Hospital, Newark. Born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, she lived most of her life in Jersey City. She sewed many items for the Puerto Rican Day Parade, and even her own burial dress. She would often sponsor softball teams in Jersey City, and was a devout N.Y. Yankees fan. She was survived by her life partner of 25 years, Anibal Rivera, in addition to three sisters, one brother, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
