Speak out on $59.3M school budget on March 31

Hoboken Schools Superintendent Jack Raslowsky submitted the working budget to the Board of Education Tuesday night, complete with a small tax reduction as promised. The tentative $59.3 million budget is up from $56.3 million last year (see previous story below).
The budget will cause the school tax rate to drop by 1.82 percent, saving home owners $55 on properties assessed at $250,000.
The school board will hold a public hearing on the budget Tuesday, March 31.
At this past Tuesday night’s meeting, the public was not given a copy of the budget, just an overview sheet that outlines certain information. Raslowsky did confirm at the meeting that personnel cuts are imminent.
