According to several sources connected to Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy’s campaign, Healy (see photo) and his slate of City Council candidates will all file their petitions at once with the City Clerk’s Office this coming Tuesday, March 10 at 2:30 p.m.
The deadline date for candidates to submit petitions to be certified by the City Clerk for the May 12 municipal election is March 19.
Healy is running for a second full term in office, having won the mayoral election in 2005 and the special election in November 2004 to fill
the remainder of the late Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham’s term, who died in May of that year.
His opponents in this year’s election are Louis Manzo, L. Harvey Smith and Dan Levin. Smith and Manzo are already certified to run in the May 12 election.
Running on Healy’s ticket is Michael Sottolano – Ward A, Phil Kenny – Ward B, Nidia Rivera Lopez – Ward C, Bill Gaughan – Ward D, Guy Catrillo – Ward E, Viola Richardson – Ward F, and Willie Flood, Peter Brennan and Mariano Vega for the citywide at-large seats. –
