Found unconscious

On Sunday, Feb. 15, police received a call of a possible bar fight at a restaurant on Sinatra Drive and Fourth Street.
Officers arrived at the establishment around 2:15 a.m. and found a man unconscious on the floor inside the bar.
The man soon regained consciousness, but told police he was unaware of how he became injured. Officers said he had a sizable lump on the left side of his head.
A witness told police a white male struck the victim from behind after the two exchanged words. The witness said the aggressor left the bar with another male and the witness stopped them outside. The witness was then allegedly struck in the face by the aggressor, as was a third victim who was later found to have fractures to his jaw and eye socket.
Police were unable to locate the suspected aggressor.
The first victim who was found unconscious was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center, but no information about his injuries was released last week. The second victim had no serious injuries and declined medical attention.

Bar owner/actor allegedly in fight

At 1:40 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, police were dispatched to Sixth and Washington streets for a possible bar fight at Sullivans.
Responding officers were met by a male victim who was visibly bleeding from his right eye. The victim told police he didn’t know who hit him, but that he wanted to press charges.
A female friend of the victim then told police that the incident started inside the bar when an unknown male made a rude comment to her. She was vocally offended by the remark and she left the establishment with her friends, including the eventual victim.
Once outside, the group told the bar owner what had happened, the woman told police. The victim, according to the police report, verbally confronted the bar owner on behalf of his female friend.
The bar owner, George Palermo, 41, Hoboken, allegedly took a swing at one member of the group but missed, according to the woman. He then allegedly punched the 28-year-old victim in the face, and the man fell to the ground. Police said a friend of Palermo’s jumped in to stop the alleged assault.
The female witness identified Palermo to police, but then allegedly began yelling at law enforcement officers and flailing her arms.
She told them they were not doing their jobs, police said, and when officers tried to subdue her, she allegedly would not stop.
Police arrested the female, Tricia Timpanaro, 30, West Caldwell, for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Palermo was charged with aggravated assault.
Palermo is also an actor who has appeared on soap operas and in episodes of “NYPD Blue,” “JAG,” and “Law and Order.”

Mystery man in trench coat fires into air

Several neighbors called police on Saturday, Feb. 15 to alert them that a gunshot had gone off in the area of Third and Jackson streets.
According to a witness, a light-colored green vehicle and a dark-colored Cadillac were parked outside one of the Housing Authority buildings when a man in a long, black trench coat exited the green vehicle.
The witness told police that the man walked to the entrance of the building carrying something, then fired a single shot in the air from his hip.
According to the account, the man then fled the scene in the Cadillac with other occupants in both vehicles.
Other callers supported the account, police said, and officers recovered a 45-caliber bullet casing from a nearby sidewalk. No suspects were found
