Dear Editor:
The 28 member Secaucus Democratic Committee has offered three names, Dawn McAdam, Robert Zych and George Heflich to the mayor and council, one of which will finish First Ward Councilman Richard Kane’s term that expires November 2009.
At the last council meeting I questioned the mayor as to how the three names were selected. Did they come from three different members of the 28 members in attendance? If so, who nominated each one? I never did receive an answer.
I find it peculiar that after the first three names were nominated, the process was closed. I was not at this meeting, so if my information is incorrect I welcome any of the 28 members who were present to correct me. What is equally strange, was of the three names chosen, they at one time or another, were enemies of Dennis Elwell and Mike Gonnelli. In politics you make a lot of friends as well as enemies. Friends come and go, however, enemies accumulate. My honesty and frankness, telling it like it is, has made me an enemy of Dennis Elwell and Mike Gonnelli at one time or another.
It is a matter of record that at all three names offered by the Committee, Dawn McAdam, Robert Zych and George Heflich were enemies of Dennis Elwell and Mike Gonnelli at one time or another.
At this point in time it is important that I do not get off on too many tangents. I am running for a seat on the Secaucus Board of Education. I will be cramming all my energy in that direction. I need not accumulate any more enemies than I already have.
