On Friday, November 21, 2008 Genevieve Iervolino-Fusco, coach of the Hoboken Special Olympics Team, was presented the Outstanding Coach Award from the New Jersey Special Olympics. Mrs. Iervolino-Fusco was honored at a reception at the Westin Hotel in Princeton. A Hoboken teacher for 31 years, Mrs. Iervolino-Fusco was cited for her outstanding dedication to the New Jersey Special Olympics throughout her over 20 years of coaching.
