A mass of Christian Burial was offered Feb. 6 at St. John the Baptist Church for Andrea G. Ortiz (nee Paladino), 58, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She died on Feb. 2 at Christ Hospital. She was employed by the Jersey City Board of Education as a teaching assistant in Lincoln High School. She retired one year ago. Formerly, she was employed by CitiCorp Bank in New York for 20 years. She was a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, as well as a recent parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, both in Jersey City. She is survived by her husband, Michael Ortiz, and her mother, Anita Paladino, and two sisters, Anita Lisa Crosby, and Lauren Wilson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Natividad Russo, and her husband, Vincent. She was the aunt of Christa and Cara Crosby, Peter and Luke Wilson, and John and Vinny Russo, and daughter in-law of Iris Duardo. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
