Police report that two cars dragging down Route 440 on Sunday night crashed into Richard Rutkowski Park in Bayonne when they failed to navigate the highway’s abrupt eastern turn. At least one passenger suffered a severe injury to his hand as both cars crashed through the park’s wooden barriers. Police said both drivers are from out of the area and that alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
